Suspension Head
DJS Kronos India
February 2015 - February 2016
Head of Suspension in a Team of 40 that accomplished the design, fabrication and testing of an All-terrain vehicle. Competed in two national level BAJA SAE competitions, winning the first prize for Maneuverability event. Achieved the following as Suspension Head:
Design of suspension geometry on Solidworks
Finite Element Analysis of components on Ansys Workbench
Prototyping and fabrication of Assembly
Troubleshooting and testing of Suspension System
Component Design
3D CAD models designed on Solidworks. The parts labeled are:
1) Suspension Knuckle 2) Steering Arm 3) Dead Spindle
4) Brake Rotor 5) Wheel Hub
Testing and Analysis
Component analysis using ANSYS workbench considering:
Stress Concentration value and location
Part Distortion during extreme conditions
Part Failure due to fatigue or extreme conditions
Component Assembly
All components were assembled using Solidworks and a rendered image on the vehicle was developed.
Fabrication
Fabrication process included:
Vehicle chassis fabrication by welding metal tubes
Engine, powertrain, brake and suspension component Assembly
